Each year Padakshep supports several students for their educational expenses. There are many students whom we cannot support due to our limited resources. This prompted us to think a way to reach many more underprivileged students so that we can extend our mission to support education. Padakshep Library is the project which offers us that opportunity. We at Padakshep feel that the information about schools, colleges and universities should be easily accessible and put in one place for everyone to know. The target readers are the students from West Bengal in India. Over the years we have realized that many students do not know why, where and what they should study. They often asked us how to get a job in a particular area of study. We felt this is the time we should keep all the information of schools/colleges/universities/job opportunities in one place. This website will hopefully be a step in that direction.

Padakshep’s Open Teaching Project is an effort towards helping the students in their self-learning process. Students often find it difficult to get help outside classrooms. While some can afford private tuitions, many students do not find any other resources accessible to them. Padakshep volunteers have stepped in to fill this gap. We believe that with more students joining this project, we will be able to help those needy students. Those who cannot afford internet, we are there to help. Students who are shy and cannot approach their teachers at schools can also get help here.

পদক্ষেপ দীর্ঘদিন ধরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের দুঃস্থ ছাত্রছাত্রীদের অর্থসাহায্য করে আসছে। পদক্ষেপের দীর্ঘমেয়াদী লক্ষ্য হলো ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মধ্যে শিক্ষার আনন্দ পৌঁছে দেওয়া। তাই পদক্ষেপ বিজ্ঞান পত্রিকার বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে মিলে বাংলা ভাষায় বিজ্ঞানের মজা ছড়িয়ে দিতে চায়। বাংলা ভাষায় কেন? কারণ বাংলার মানুষ প্রধানত বাংলায় কথা বলেন। যাঁরা বিজ্ঞানী নন, অনেকদিন হলো বিজ্ঞান নিয়ে চিন্তাভাবনা করেন নি, ছাত্রছাত্রী যারা বিজ্ঞানে ভয় পায় অথবা বিজ্ঞান ভালোবাসে সবার জন্য এই বিজ্ঞান পত্রিকা।
